Terms and Conditions that apply when you buy products from our website

Important Notice: Please be advised that orders are only deemed accepted upon dispatch of the goods, meaning the statutory 30-day delivery period under the Consumer Rights Act commences from the date of
dispatch rather than the order date. In the event that an order is rejected, no contract is formed and you may not be entitled to compensation for substitute goods or to make a claim under the Consumer Credit Act. Any estimated delivery dates given on the website are estimated from the point in time that the items are picked from our warehouse prior to being dispatched to you and are not from the time that you submit an order to us.

By purchasing products from us, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. We've written this document in plain English and organised it under clear section headings to help you easily navigate and understand the agreement between us.

While we make certain contractual promises about the products we sell, we do not guarantee that the products will be suitable for your specific intended use. This is especially important if our product is used as a container — we cannot guarantee that any substance you place inside will not cause leaching, discoloration, or other chemical or physical changes to the container or its contents.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that our products are clean, uncontaminated, and compliant with any applicable regulatory standards before use. If you have any concerns about whether our products are suitable for your specific purpose, we strongly recommend ordering a small sample first and conducting your own tests.

 Who Can Purchase Products from This Website?

Products sold on our website are available for delivery within the UK using our standard shipping rates. If you're ordering from outside the UK, a shipping surcharge applies for DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) delivery. This surcharge is calculated after you place your order. We will contact you via email with the details and provide a link for payment online.

Please note: If the surcharge is not paid within 48 hours, we will reserve the right to cancel you order.

If your order is being delivered outside the UK and we have not agreed to cover import-related costs, you are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or handling fees.

 Consumer vs. Business Customers

We sell to both consumers and business customers. However, your rights will differ depending on your customer status.

You are considered a business customer if you purchase our products in connection with your trade, business, craft, or profession — regardless of whether you are an individual, a company, or the size of your business. By placing an order for business purposes, you agree to be treated as a business customer under these terms.

You are considered a consumer only if you are purchasing products solely for personal use.

Different Terms for Business and Consumer Customers

Consumer customers are entitled to certain legal protections under English law that do not apply to business customers.

For example:

  • Business customers do not have the same cancellation rights.
  • Business customers have different remedies if something goes wrong with a product.
  • We limit our liability to business customers differently than we do for consumers.

Whenever a term applies specifically to either business or consumer customers, this will be clearly indicated in each relevant section.

 Entire Agreement for Business Customers

If you are a business customer, these terms constitute the entire agreement between us.

You confirm that you have not relied on any statements, promises, representations, assurances, or warranties made by us (or on our behalf) that are not expressly included in these terms.

You waive any right to claim for innocent or negligent misrepresentation or misstatement not expressly set out in this agreement.

 Where to Find Information About Us and Our Products

You can find all key information about us, Simply Glass Bottles Ltd, and our products on our website before placing an order. After you order, we will send you an auto generated email acknowledgment confirming we have received your order. Please note, this does not mean your order has been accepted.

 When Your Order Is Accepted

Your order is only accepted once we have dispatched the items and confirmed dispatch to you. The initial email you receive is just an acknowledgment of your order, not a confirmation of acceptance.

When We May Reject Your Order

 We may reject an order for several reasons,
such as:

  • The product is unexpectedly out of stock.
  • We cannot verify your age (for age-restricted items).
  • You’re located outside of the UK or another permitted delivery area.
  • A pricing error has occurred.

If your order is rejected, we will let you know as soon as possible and issue a full refund for any payments made.

When and How You are Charged

You are charged at the time you place your order. If, for any reason, we later cannot accept your order, we will refund you in full.

All transactions are processed in GBP (£). Prices listed exclude UK VAT but exclude delivery costs unless stated otherwise.

You must confirm that any credit or debit card used is yours. All payments are subject to standard verification and authorisation by your card issuer. If your payment is declined, we are not responsible for delays or cancellation of your order.

 Delays Outside Our Control

If there’s a delay in delivering your order due to circumstances beyond our control, we will notify you as soon as possible and work to minimise any disruption. In such cases, we are not liable for delays. If the delay is substantial, you may cancel the order and request a refund for any undelivered items (less any reasonable costs already incurred).

Your Right to Change Your Mind (Consumers Only)

This section applies only to consumers, not business customers.

 If you are a consumer buying online, you usually have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery and receive a refund. This is subject to the conditions outlined below.

 Exceptions to Your Right to Cancel

 You cannot cancel or return your order if:

  • The products are not returned in perfect, unused condition and in all original packaging.
  • The goods have been inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.
  • Your Cancellation period has expired or you are outside your cancellation deadline.

You must let us know if you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. If your order arrives in separate deliveries, the 14 day period begins the day after the final item is delivered.

Please include your order number, the details of the goods, and your reason for return. We will provide you with a return number and instructions, which must be followed.

 Returning the Product

You must return the item within 14 days of notifying us of your decision to cancel, Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless free returns were offered at the time of purchase. When returning goods you must use a reputable delivery service and keep proof of postage. If you decide to return goods for any reason other than a fault, a 10% re-stocking charge will be deducted from you refund.

If we do not receive the item, or if it arrives later than reasonable, we will not issue a refund. We are not obliged to issue a refund if the returned item(s) are not received by us, or if they are received beyond our reasonable return period.

Restocking and Handling Fee

If you change your mind and return the goods, we will deduct a 10% handling and restocking fee from your refund. This reflects the administrative and warehouse time involved in processing your order and return. This fee does not apply to faulty goods.

Delivery Charges in Refunds

We only refund standard delivery costs. We do not refund extra charges for express delivery or delivery at a specific time, unless we only offered an express option for your location.

Damaged or Used Returns

Returns must be in perfect, unused condition, in original packaging, and packed securely — as they were when shipped to you.

If the item has been used, damaged, or handled beyond what is necessary to inspect it (e.g. more than you would in a physical store), we may reduce your refund to reflect the reduction in value.

Refund Timing and Method

If you cancel before dispatch, we will issue a refund as soon as possible — and always
within 14 days.

If you have returned your order, we will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods or receiving proof that you have sent them.
  
Refunds will be made to your original payment method. We do not charge any fees to process refunds.

Alternative to Refunds: Credit or Replacements

If you contact us regarding a refund, we may offer you the option of:

  • Replacement goods, and/or
  • Store credit (valid for 12 months)

This is optional and offered as an alternative to a standard refund.

You have certain rights if your items are faulty or not as described.

Please provide evidence of the defect or damage (e.g., photographs), along with confirmation that it was not the result of improper handling. Include all packaging and delivery documents related to your order.

We guarantee that our products comply with the descriptions on our website, meet all legal requirements.

If you are a business customer, please note we are not the manufacturer. Our warranty responsibility is limited to passing on any warranty we receive from suppliers or manufacturers.

Your remedies as a business customer:
      
If you notify us in writing within a reasonable time after discovering a defect, allow us to inspect the product, and return it to us at your expense (Which will be refunded if the product is confirmed to be defective), we will seek a repair, replacement, or refund from the manufacturer or supplier on your behalf. This will be your sole remedy.

Exceptions: We are not liable if.

  • You continue using the product after notifying us of a defect.
  • The defect arises due to failure to follow our instructions or good trade practice.
  • The defect is due to a design or specification you provided.
  • You alter or repair the product without our written consent.
  • The defect results from fair wear and tear, negligence, wilful damage, or abnormal use.

 Delivery

All delivery dates are estimates and subject to change. We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by late delivery. Delivery times may be affected by third parties or factors outside our control.

Estimated lead times for special products are approximate and do not guarantee delivery dates.

Goods will be delivered to the address you provide at checkout, according to the delivery option selected.

For consumers, ownership transfers once full payment is received, and risk transfers to the buyer upon delivery.

For business customers, ownership transfers when all payments are made in full, and risk transfers upon unloading at the delivery address. You are responsible for the products after unloading.

We aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours, subject to stock availability. If an item is unavailable or delayed, we will notify you by email.

 Changes to Products and Terms

We may update products to comply with laws or to make minor technical improvements without affecting you’re their intended use.

We may terminate our contract and seek
compensation if you:

  • Fail to pay within 5 days after a payment reminder;
  • Do not accept delivery or collect your “Click and Collect” orders within the specified time frame (5 days for collection, 20 days before cancellation).
  • For business customers, we may also terminate the contract immediately if:
  • You enter insolvency or similar proceedings.
  • You suspend or cease business operations.
  • Your financial position deteriorates significantly.

Upon termination, business customers must immediately pay all outstanding amounts and return all unpaid for products. If the products are not returned, we may repossess them.

Termination does not affect any rights or liabilities accrued before termination.

Liability and Losses

 We are responsible for losses caused by our
breach of contract except for:

  • Unforeseeable losses
  • Losses caused by events outside our control.
  • Losses avoidable by you following instructions.
  • Business losses relating to trade, business, craft, or profession (see below).
  • Business customers liability limits.


We exclude liability for loss of profit and indirect or consequential losses.

Our total liability limited shall not exceed the amounts you have paid for the products.

Exceptions where liability cannot be excluded include:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Breaches under consumer protection laws.
  • Defective products under relevant legislation.

Complaints and Disputes

 How to submit a Complaint:

Send your complaint in writing by email to customerservices@simplyglassbottles.co.uk, with the subject line of COMPLAINT or by post to our postal address.

Please include your contact details, purchase date, product details, and the reason for your complaint.

We aim to acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and provide a full respond within 7 working days after completing our investigation.

Alternative dispute resolution

You may submit complaints to Retail ADR (https://www.retailadr.org.uk/). If unsatisfied, you can still pursue legal action.

 Legal jurisdiction

These terms are governed by English law. You may bring claims in English courts or courts in your jurisdiction (if UK-based). We can also bring claims against you in your local courts.

 Additional Terms

This contract is only between you and us; no third parties have enforcement rights.

If any part of this contract is deemed unlawful or invalid, the rest remains effective.

We may delay enforcing our rights without waiving them.

 Account security

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. Password resets are available upon request. 

Website use

While we strive for reliability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free website use and are not liable for data loss. We are not responsible for external websites linked from ours.
